Why do you have to be a ZNE Member to register for ConvenZioNE?
ZNE ConvenZioNE is an extraordinary celebration meant to celebrate one of the world's largest mixed media focused art groups, and its membership. This event is priced nearly at cost, it is not a money making venture. It is a convention for and about our membership.
While we are always happy to welcome new members, we do require membership in order to participate in this event. Joining ZNE is quick and easy, and the membership fee starts at only $25 a year. At the time that you register, your membership year will begin, and you will receive full benefits as a member. You may immediately return and register for ConvenZioNE after joining ZNE.
For more information about ZNE and membership, please click on the "Join Us" text below - see our website, at www.ZNEart.com.

We look forward to having you join us!
Why do you only take PayPal and Credit Cards (through PayPal)?
While we are working on accepting credit cards (without using PayPal as a portal) - at present, we can only accept payment through PayPal. Our registration process has been simplified as much as possible.
If you do not already have a PayPal account, please note that they are free to open, and there is no charge for outgoing payments. Click on the logo below to register for a PayPal account.

If payment through PayPal creates an extreme hardship, in some cases we may accept money orders or cashier's checks. We do not accept personal checks for ZNE ConvenZioNE registration fees.
What does my registration fee cover?
This event was created with the desire to spoil and celebrate artists! Your event registration fee gives you registration rights for all workshops, which are priced at a discount compared to comparable workshops with the same instructors.
Additional benefits for the 2008 event include your lunch on Friday, your registration packet and gifts, as well as your gift certificate at American Harvest during Bella Galleria, and your ticket to The ZNE Show and 1,000 Journals Screening on Friday night, and your Saturday night dinner at Blue Agave Club in downtown Pleasanton. All registrants are provided with early access to the ConvenZioNE Vendor Faire (Art~Paper & Pleasures!) on Sunday August 24th, and will receive a 10% discount on all products from all vendors during that early entrance hour. Also, all registrants who choose to participate in the ZNE Zaftig chunky book will receive their book binding, covers, and delivery - gratis.
ZNE ConvenZioNE registrants also receive discounts on vendor tables and/or program advertising, should they be interested, and finally - they will receive an extraordinary discount offer (worth up to $200!) on the 2009 event registration fees.
And additional goodies, gift bags, and more are being added to the list of perks for registrants, regularly!

Can I bring my spouse or other guests to the group meals?
Yes!
In 2008, we are happy to offer a spouse/guest fee for our Friday events. For a fee of $40, your guests will enjoy a lunch during registration, receive a mini-packet that includes gift certificates and coupons to be used during Bella Galleria, and they will receive a ticket for admission to the ZNE ConvenZioNE Show (and 1,000 Journals Screening) that night. Information on purchasing guest passes for the Friday events will be posted on the ZNE ConvenZioNE attendee group boards.
At present, we do not expect to have any room for guest attendees at the Blue Agave Club Group Dinner on Saturday, so only those with registration badges will be admitted.
Note that your guests are also welcome (free of charge) during the duration of the public hours of the ConvenZioNE Vendor Faire (Art~Paper & Pleasures!) on Sunday.
In 2009, guests will be welcome once again during Bella Galleria, during the Grand Banquet with Michele Beschen, and during the public portions of the event such as Regalo Per Me and Art Paper & Pleasantries. You can learn more about the 2009 event by going to the website home at www.ZNEcon.com.
What if I want to register for a class, but I don't want to participate in the other activities - do I still have to pay the registration fee?
While you are not required to participate in or attend the group dinners, Galleria Bello, or the ConvenZioNE Vendor Faire, you do have to pay the full registration fee in order to then register for workshops. No part of your registration fee will be refunded due to non-participation in any of the group events.

Is there any chance that I will register, but then all the classes will be sold out?
No! Our registration cap is set exactly at the maximum amount of seats available in all our classes combined. While the specific first class choice/s you have may be sold out, there will always be an additional class available. We will make every effort to mark sold out individual classes as such, however - in some circumstances, you may find that you begin to sign up for a class, and the checkout cart tells you it is sold out. (In which case, the class is sold out.) However, we'll try to mark the class a full before you even get that far, if that is the case.
So long as you are registered for the event, there will always be at least one class choice left for you, as long as you are flexible, you will find that you will have a wonderful weekend of learning new techniques and experiences, regardless of which classes remain available.
*Once class registration opens, please remember to register for your class/es as quickly as possible following your event registration. Classes are given to registrants first come, first served.
(In the unlikely event of technical glitch that may create an over registration in any area of the event, you will be notified immediately.)

What if I want to join in on the group activities, but not any classes?
On Saturday, our workshop day - depending on availability, you have the option of attending one full day class or one or two half day classes. In order to be fair to our instructors, we and they are working together and working hard to fill all classes. Please do not take a registration space if you do not wish to participate in any of the workshops, as this will mean that one or more class spaces will remain unfilled. We ask that you register for your class/es immediately after registering for the event.
I paid the registration fee, but only wanted one class - which is sold out. Now what?
Please be aware, prior to registering, that we can not guarantee the availability of workshops. We will try to mark all closed workshops as "full" - due to the number of registrants accessing the system, it is possible that you will begin the process of adding a workshop to your "cart" - only to find out that it is sold out.
Remember, there will always be at least one other workshop if not more, available to you.
We will NOT modify our refund policy because you were unable to get into a specific workshop.
Where can I find supplies needed, logistical information, room shares, ride shares and more details about the event, once I am registered?
Discussion boards, detailed class information, and more can be found on the ZNE Network Group Forums. Just go to the ConvenZioNE 2008 Group!

I am coming from out of town, what is the nearest airport?
We recommend that you fly into the Oakland International Airport. It will be a 45 minute to 1 hour drive to Pleasanton/Livermore from that airport.
If you are looking for competitive pricing, both the San Jose and San Francisco Airports are within driving range (1 to 1-1/2 hour drives from Pleasanton/Livermore). However, Oakland is also usually the most economical airport to fly into.
Please note that while making travel arrangements for the 2008 event is the responsibility of the event registrant, in 2009 we are working with a convention travel agent - www.ParAvion.com to secure discounted flights, rental cars, and room blocks for our attendees. We will post more information in the coming months.
I do not have a local place to stay, where should I make my hotel reservations?
Any hotel in Pleasanton, Dublin, or Livermore should be within a quick drive.
We have held aside some room blocks in local hotels, as well. All information about room blocks, room sharing, and more is located on the ConvenZioNE Attendee Group on the ZNE group boards. You will be invited to join this group as soon as your registration is received. The rooms in our room blocks will be allocated first come, first served.
Are the event sites accessible by public transportation?
Unfortunately, not. The Dublin Pleasanton BART station is the closest BART station, and you would need to take a cab from there. If you are working with Public Transportation and are looking for other people to share a cab, check in on the ZNE ConvenZioNE Group boards, where you will find other attendees of the event.
Do note, however, that many local area hotels DO have shuttle service to and from Downtown Pleasanton and the surrounding areas, where all our 2008 events will be held.
For our 2009 event, we will work with hotels that offer shuttle services to and from the Alameda County Fairgrounds, where the event will be held.
Do you need volunteers for the event?
Yes! Our call for volunteers is located on the Convenzione Discussion Boards, which are accessible to all registered members. Volunteers will receive special benefits, as described on the boards.
However, we are unable to offer registration or workshops in trade for volunteer positions, at this time. If in the coming months these types of trades are available, we will announce them on the ZNE groupwide boards first, and the website second. Due to the at-cost expense per person for the event and the capacity limits for this event, we don't anticipate these types of trades being available.
If you are registered attendee interested in volunteering, we'd love to hear from you!
