ZNE Members do so much good all over the world,it would be impossible to qualify or quantify their efforts.  Those listed below are just a few that we know about.  Check out what your fellow members are up to, and join them in their efforts! 

Because if would be impossible to put these efforts in any particular order - they are listed in alphebetical order by member name. 

Do you know of a ZNE Member (including yourself!) who is or has made a significant contribution to a non profit organizition or person in need?  These actions exemplify the giving spirit of our membership and we would love to highlight both the member and the group/s they are benefitting!  Let us know!

Kim Bailey - moonscarabart

ZNE Founding Member Kim Bailey can create a divine portrait of your pet for you, and her love for animals shines through in all she does.  She is an active member of Art Helping Animals, and frequently donates her time and talents to make a difference in the lives of our furry friends far and wide.

Robin Bartoletti - urban_debris

Robin is a frequent contributor to ZNE causes and activities.  She generously donates her time, talent, and artwork to various causes.  She has written and organized ZNE Gallery proposals, she is serving as a guest instructor for a ZNE K.I.S. workshop - and that is just the beginning.  And, Robin generously includes recipes (for cupcakes even!) and altered art techniques on her blog.  Thanks for all you do, Robin!

Karen Beitar - Karyn_Art

Karen is a founding member of ZNE, and no stranger to supporting artists and art groups.  Among her many group affiliations and volunteer work on behalf of artists, she has served as a board member and more recently as the Vice President and President of her local Harnett County, North Carolina Arts Council!

Bernie Berlin

Bernie Berlin is a talented mixed media artist, an ardent supporter of the arts, and she is the heart and soul behind A Place to Bark (and meow!) her animal rescue foundation.  Bernie is an honorary member of ZNE and we are proud to have her!  If you aren't familiar with her work - click on the link above or logo below to learn more.  WOW.

Laurie Blau-Marshall

Laurie Blau-Marshall is a valued member of ZNE.  Not only does she volunteer her time to coordinate our fabulous Cercle D'Ame program, but she also regularly donates to ZNE Art Full of Heart Programs, including the recent Josh Phillips Family drawing, and she donated the proceeds from an auction selling the fun ephemera below, to the fund to benefit fellow ZNEer Jeanne Dunn's husband, when he took ill in a foreign country.

ZNE Member *Chrysti* of Altered Abbey and Covet Me, has donated box after box of fun stuff to ZNE to help support the ZNE Store, ZNE's philanthropic efforts and more!  In addition to other generous philanthropic activities, Chrysti has created an abundance of beautiful art to donate to good causes, such as the piece shown which benefted Bernie Berlin's Animal Rescue Foundation (A Place to Bark - see above!).  Hooray *Chrysti!!*

ZNE Member Anne Dowden's Yahoo Group created a stunning calendar full of fabulous artwork.  The extra copy was sold at auction to benefit jewelry artist Robin Whittemore  (learn more about Anne, by clicking here).

Katey - Duley - Blueyeduck

Katie is a true supporter of her fellow self representing artists, through and through.  Not only has she started a wonderful, warm, free and public artist group on eBay - CaAT - but she has also taken on the helm of running the eBay Artist Choice Awards.

Debra Frei - Alternique

Inspired by ZNE's Live Pink program, Debra has takern her contribution a step farther.  She has created a gorgeous selection of ATCs, especially for Breast Cancer Survivors.  In collaboration with ZNE, she is donating some of her cards to the Live Pink Program, and some are specifically for ZNE Members who are breast cancer survivors.  Debra is a shining example of putting your art, where your heart is.  If you are a ZNE Member and a breast cancer patient / survivor, then click here, or on the link abvove to learn more about how to receive one of Debra's gorgeous ATCs.

Rande Hansen is a founding member of ZNE, an incredible artist, and an incredibly giving person.  Whether it is to ZNE efforts, Traci Roos Art 4 a Cure card deck or Bernie Berlin's recent auctions benefitting A Place to Bark - Rande is always giving.  Hooray Rande!  The art world is lucky to have you!

Shawn Marie Hardy

ZNE Member Shawn Marie Hardy has started a project she call Our Children: Honor With Art.  The project is dedicated to the cause of missing and exploited children, and the medium for making a difference are works of art. Shawn's hope is to bring awareness and keep it alive through this artistic, creative process.

Bella, a founding member of ZNE is a constant contributor to causes she believes in.  She actively promotes Bernie Berlin's efforts on behalf of A Place to Bark, she has donated boxes full of art and art supplies to ZNE to benefit our promotional efforts and all of our members everywhere, and she is the sponsor and heart behind the long awaited Bella's Beauties children's art contest which will debut in 2007 and benefit Rupert's Kids.

Shoshanah Jennings - Hannah Grey

Shoshanah Jennings (and her wonderful art supply store Hannah Grey) is another ZNE Member with a big heart.  Hannah Grey also donates to causes, sponsors contests, and recently Shoshanah coordinated an art collection which was sold to benefit an animal rescue group.  Thanks Shoshanah for making this world a better place!

ZNE Member Jane Kayell (katat0nik) created the extraordinary painting above, and donated it to benefit the charities supported by Art for Critters.  What a wonderful tribute to our four legged and furry friends!

Linda Keene - yourgreatfinds

ZNE Member Linda Keene is not only a wonderful artist but she is also a lover of cats, and her three beautiful bengals in particular.  One of Linda's cats, Jasper,  unexpectedly took ill and suffered a stroke to his spinal cord - before he was even one year old!  Despite the advice from more than one vet that Linda have Jasper euthenized, she is painstakingly rehabilitating him, recognizing the value and beauty in his life - despite the challenges of nursing him back to health.  Her efforts so far have meant that Jasper is once again able to walk, and Linda believes that he will jump again one day as well!

Vickie Mack - Bmuse

ZNE Member Vickie "Mack" Mackensie regularly demonstrates her generosity by donating art supplies and gift certificates from her fabulous online art supply store B-Muse, to every cause under the sun.  Vickie donated a $25.00 gift certificate to the winner of ZNE's Hurricane Relief Effort art contest which benefitted victims hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

ZNE Member Dale McLain supports many causes, not the least of which is ONE, The Campaign to Make Poverty History.  Proving that every effort really does make a difference, Dale promotes this campaign every day by posting a link to it on her eBay About Me page.

Danielle Muller

Danielle  Muller is just one of many ZNE members and artists all over, who have added the Breast Friends in support of JoAnnA logo (created by artists Lelainia Lloyd) to her website.  She is also participating in a special Breast Friends art book which will be given to JoAnnA.  For helping to support one of our Founding Members, on behalf of all of ZNE - thank you Danielle!

Cinda Rae Oliverio - rainwindmoon

ZNE Founding member Cinda Oliverio - or Cindalicious as Chel likes to call her - is the energizer bunny of generosity.  She is the member who just keeps giving.  She has contributed artwork, time, and money to so many good causes, it would be impossible to list them all.  Her art is featured on one of the Art 4 a Cure cards, she donated several pieces to the ZNE Hurricane Katrina fundraiser, and that's just a tiny drip on her ocean of artsy contributions.  Thanks Cinda for being who such a wonderful friend to artists everywhere!

Julie O'Neil, Founding Member, Moderator and Web Mistress Extraordinairre of ZNE is a constant supporter of many causes.  Most notably, the extraoridinary yahoo group she started - Altered Art Obsession has fulfilled a commitment (and continues to do so) to ask members to regularly donate extras during art swaps which are auctioned off to raise funds for different non-profit organizations.  Bravo Julie!

Jane Pierce

When fellow ZNEer Jeanne Dunne's husband took ill in Egypt, Jane Pierce (zjayne) took action donating and aucitoning off a gorgeous piece of art, with all proceeds going to Jeanne to help with travel expenses incurred in bringing her husband home to the United States. 

 

JoAnnA Pierotti - mosshillstudio

Anyone who knows ZNE Founding member JoAnnA knows that she constantly exemplifies the spirit of giving.  As with many of our members, it would not be possible to note all of her incredible contributions to her community - but of note are the fact that she spent time working directly at ground zero following September 11, 2001:

More recently, when JoAnnA was diagnosed with breast cancer, she bravely shared and continues to share her experiences of diagnosis, mastectomy, and chemo through her online blog.

JoAnnA is also a member of the Yahoo Group Paper Whimsy, and she encouraged the group to donate an entire month's worth of swap cards with the theme "Pink Hearts" to the ZNE Live Pink program, to be distributed to others whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

Stacie Rife - baileysbliss

ZNE Founding Member Stacie Rife is yet another (and yet, not just another) incredible artist and giving person.  Stacie has created art in honor of JoAnnA Pierotti, and contributed to many other causes.  Most notably, though - Stacie is an animal lover through and through.  Her website includes links to many wonderful animal rescue organizations, and her efforts to support them are never ending!

Traci Roos

ZNE Member Traci Roos coordinated an extraordinary project in honor of women who had survivied and succumbed to breast cancer - Art 4 a Cure.  Contributing artists, including many other ZNE Members donated art and stories to be used in the creation of an incredible deck of carrds.  Traci sells the cards on her website and $5.00 of every sale is donated to Breast Cancer organizations. Wow.  Wonderful work Traci!

Barbe Saint John

Barbe Saint John is a founding member of ZNE.  In 2007 she generously donated artwork to the Artstream Gallery for their Lovely Hearts art sale which benefitted The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Bravo Barbe!



Cathy Scalise - Treasured Heirlooms

ZNE Member Cathy Scalise is a dedicated Oprah Winfrey fan, and she tries to live each day by one of Oprah's mottos: "What have you done today to make yourself feel proud?"

Cathy's response to Oprah's question, is that her wonderful art filled website - Treasured Heirlooms - makes her very proud!

Cathy has decided to donate a percentage of all sales made on her website to "Oprah's Angel Network". Everyone who makes a purchase from Cathy's store has the opportunity to own a gorgeous treasure while also helping someone who doesn't have as much, have a chance at a better life.   Bravo!

Teresa Stanton - stton

Teresa is a longtime member of ZNE. She has frequently donated art to ZNE Art Full of Heart projects, and most recently, she offered a gorgeous sheet of collage images as a gift for other ZNE Members to use in their own art.

Susan Stayer

Susan Stayer is another ZNE Member artist / photographer whose love for animals shows through in all she does.  She has donated lots of artwork, time and talent to Marketplace PetMAC, a local Arlington, VA rescue driven pet store and adoption center, and she also promotes the Partnership for Animal Welfare on her website.  Bravo Susan!
