And now, A Note from Chel!

Hello wonderful ZNEers! Oh what a spring and summer it has been. The ZNE Store on eBay closed down, and we moved off eBay, which was a wonderful decision overall. Our ZNE artists have been selling art through the ZNE store, so if you haven't sent me your listings - please be sure and do so! Remember, we take no commission fees from our artists. We just want you to be successful! To get more info about selling in The ZNE Store - check here:

And now, on to more irritating subjects - sigh - (I also posted this on the website discussion boards) as many of you know, my computer suffered a catastrophic crash a while ago, and I am not receiving ANY of the emails that are coming to me through ZNE.
We are still working, as I speak on fixing and hopefully restoring all those lost emails, but for now - I don't have access to any of them.
Adding injury to my computer crash insult - I was already horribly overloaded with emails, receiving close to 1,000 a day and behind by over 30,000 unread emails.
(ZNE Members mosshillstudio and krishubick came to visit me last month and they were equally horrified when we toured my email accounts.)
I am also working on addressing that issue, trying to figure out how to isolate the important "real person" emails from the lower priority emails, and how to enable an aggressive spam blocker that won't also delete a large percentage of emails from real people.
This has been a challenge, and I know it is causing a great deal of frustration for many members (and my friends and family alike). To be completely honest, it never occurred to me that I would be receiving such a huge influx of emails on a daily basis and I was just completely unprepared.
Bare with me as we sort this all out. Believe me, we are working on it!
Now, back to the good news! Speaking of visitors, Two wonderful ZNEers - Kris Hubick and JoAnnA Pierotti did indeed come stay with me for a couple of days last month, and the three of us had SO MUCH FUN!
Here we are:

That's Kris, Moi, and JoAnnA!
And as always,ZNE is very active with lots going on. Read on - and for your patience, support, and endless creativity and inspiration - I THANK YOU!!!
xoxo - Chel

ZNE CONTEST NEWS!
First of all, note that Needle in a Haystack, The ZNE Promotional Art Contest and The ZNE Theme Week are all on hiatus this month, but will return in December! Watch the Discussion boards or join ZNE Alertz (above) for more info!
COMING SOON! We have several fabulous contests coming soon, so stay posted for fun artsy challenged hosted by ZNE Members, Bella's Beauties Contest, and contests hosted by Hannah Gray, bMuse, and Vintage Paint Works, Co. Again, watch the boards and join ZNE Alertz for up to date news on all contests.
This month, via the ZNE Scene - we are introducing a new monthly contest. It's called:
GUESS THE ZNE ARTIST!
Check out the gorgeous collage below. I love just love the colors and composition. It is truly a lovely piece.

Now, for the contest part. Guess the artist! Have you seen this piece before or do you just recognize the style?
The first person to send the correct artist name (either name, or eBay id) to me - will win a $10.00 gift certificate in The ZNE Store. Now, just to be fair and make sure that all our members are on their toes - even the actual artist who created this work can play. They just have to get their name to me before anyone else!
The artist's name and the contest winner will be revealed in the next issue of The ZNE Scene, and a new "Guess The ZNE Artist" artwork will be posted.
IMPORTANT!! Because my ZNE email is down, please send all your guesses to:
ZNEMarketing@Yahoo.com
Thanks, have fun and GOOD LUCK!
And... we are WAY overdue in congratulating the very talented Tiffany Jane Marshall for winning the ZNE Miss Mary's Backside contest! Tiffany, your prize package will be on its way to you shortly!

Tiffany created two beautiful backsides that YOU can use on your very own ATCs (or any piece of art).
These are specifically for ZNE Member use only!
You may copy them or save them to your computer to print out and affix to you art. We are asking in good faith that you discontinue use of these backgrounds (as with any ZNE Logo on your products) if you decided to leave membership. Other than that, it would be awfully nice to acknowledge Beyond the Vintage Path for designing your backside if you use it, but it is not a requirement. Enjoy these backgrounds!
and
And again, special thanks to ZNE Member MissMary.com for providing the prize and inspiration for such a fun contest!
And if the contests aren't enough - we have workshops for you too!
Have you heard about the ZNE K.I.S. workshop? Click below to get all the details, and join us for an upcoming workshop. They are free, fun, and fabulous!

And we need ZNE instructors for the K.I.S. workshops! You can guest instruct on a background technique, you can donate a primary image/s for use in the workshop, you can instruct on a embellishment or finishing tequnique. You can take on the whole month's workshop or just one week. You will receive a million thanks, from me personally - so let me know if you are interested, by emailing me at: ZNEMarketing@yahoo.com.
I look forward to hearing from you!
And if you live in Northern California, be sure and sign up to get on the mailing list for the monthly
