Hi Tiffany!  Tell us a little about yourself:

I live in Burleson, Texas with my wonderful husband Douglas. We are high school sweethearts, been married for 15 years, but together for over 21 years. I had 3 lovely cats, but lost 2 of them this past year, they were almost 15. We do still have our sweet Ashes who is almost 14. We also have about 40 fish in one of our ponds out back. I love to make all kinds of things, I tend to get burned out with the same 'ol stuff. Many things I love to make are collage/mixed media art, aceo's, altered books~bottles~ paper~boxes~shadow boxes...or anything that stands still long enough to glue glitter to it :) ,winged paper girls, digital art/photography, sewing, decorating...the list goes on and on :)

How long have you been crafting?:

(This is a picture of Tiffany's beautiful backyard shed.)

I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. I'm sure I got most of my skills from my mom. She has been making stuff as long as I can remember. She has always sewn and made outfits for me when I was little, I still have a little bonnet displayed in my shed she made me. She has always sewn, made standing paper dolls, shadow boxes, decoupaged, painted, decorated, etc. She never sits still...I got that from her too! And I'm pretty good with tools too, thanks to my dad!

Did you attend art school, or are you a self taught artison?:

I did not attend art school, however I did take an art class in college. It wasn't really the kind of art I preferred. We would go outside the class and sketch a tree for 3 loooong hours. Next time we would sketch 3 clay post for threeeeee loooong hours! I could of cleaned the art room and finished another paper in that time! I want to have several art pieces done in that time :)

How did you develop your Signature Style?:

I think my style is derived more from knowing what I don't like.  I think so many styles are unique & beautiful...I do like to dabble in something I wouldn't normally create.  Having said that I never stray far from what I love. But, most of my artwork style comes from having an ill husband and struggling to have a baby, both for 12 years now. It's amazing to me how so much heartache can bring on such gratitude and is really a blessing for me personally. Looking back, I do tend to put alot of beautiful children in my artwork, I guess subconsciously they pulled at my heartstrings. So, I would have to say that my signature style is created through my everyday life...

In this interview, we are going to focus not only on your art but also on your fabulous home decorating skills. I am featuring a number of pictures of your home. Can you tell me a little about yoru house in general, IE - what style of house it is, what year it was built, why you chose to live in it, etc.?:

My home was built in 1988 and is a typical ranch style home. This is our first/only home....we have changed everything inside to make it our own and planted everything in the yard. It doesn't matter how tiny/large, new/old your home is, it should be your sanctuary. That is how I feel about my home, it would be very hard to leave~

Do you have a favorite room in your home? All of my rooms are so similar, but have their own unique touch...I don't think I have a favorite~

If there is one theme that ties all the rooms in your home together, what is it?:

I like to mix several themes, as I think I would get tired of "one theme overload". I really like a mixture of Antiques & Paris Flea market style. I like to mix in clocks, lamps, nature/birds/rabbits, scales, grapes, wine, armillary spheres, topiaries, old books, fleur~de~lis decor....and whatever else unique I can find.

I know you have provided interior decorating services for others as well. Is that something you do here and there or is it a full blown career for you?:

For right now Interior Decorating is part time. I clean houses the opposite week I decorate, and I'm really attached to the people whose homes I clean. Although, when I do have a decorating/painting job, sometimes it feels full time.

Is there a certain decor style that you particularly admire?:

I have always liked London (since elementary school, I'm not sure where that came from)...but the houses that are my favorite mimic a castle on a small scale. I love those round rooms that stick out on the front of a house topped with a witches hat. I have seen many shows that have tours of castles/homes that are beautiful, some of my favorites were in London & Paris.

Do you have a favorite quote?:

"Do not waste the day for you shall never have it again."

You are a founding member of ZNE - do you have any thoughts about the group that you'd like to share with your fellow members?:

I am proud to be a founding member of ZNE and have met some wonderful friends on the boards and through personal mail. When I get time to look around at all my ZNE friends' artwork, I'm always amazed and the beautiful creations everyone comes up with!  ~ I wish every collage artist, mixed media artist, painter, doll maker, jewelry maker, photographer...etc.,  many more wonderful creations ~ beyond their wildest imaginations!

I think that's about it. Please do share any other thoughts or information, here!:
