Krissy Chadwick is in the Fondante (founding) tier of membership at ZNE, she has been a a member since the Spring of 2005. A good deal of the art that she likes to make has an Asian flair or feel to it, but she does branch out, too. She loves the use of color in her work, so you'll see bright colors in a lot of it. But of course, her work is mostly done in mixed media and/or altered art; which is what led her to ZNE!!!
Krissy's full name is Kristin, but around ZNE there seems to be a lot of Kristin's (Kristin Hubick, Kristen Peterson, etc.) so it's less confusing for all of us when we call Krissy - well, Krissy! She is a fulltime SAHM and artist. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her hubby and kids (2 teens) and her kitty Princess. Krissy says that she LIVES to be creative in her everyday life, and not just with her art. This means she also scrapbooks and does many other crafty things (like crochet, sewing, drawing/playing in art journals..etc.) To have fun she loves to dance and she actually majored in Dance in college. Her favorite passion to help her relax each night before bed is to READ...mostly fiction, but you'll also find many art related books and magazines on her night stand too!
Krissy was semi-formally trained in art by taking art classes in Jr. and Sr. High school in Santa Maria, CA. She furthered her art education at Allen Hancock College (also located in Santa Maria) by taking ceramics, drawing and design classes; later she switched her major to dance. Krissy likes to be creative in many areas of her life and she has won prizes for her art work through out her schooling and life. Previously, Krissy's art has been published in The ZNE Zine, Issue # 1. Krissy is currently involved in many art groups in addition to ZNE - including Altered Arts Obsession, ACEO, Art Squared and Catt.
