An Update from Chel!

Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius. ~Pietro Aretino
Happy Holidays ZNE family and friends! I share with you my heartfelt best wishes, with hopes that you those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving feasted well - and with every good thought going out to you and yours for Divali, Kwanza, Hannukah, Christmas and New Years. What a wonderful time of year for us all!
Thank you to all who sent me kind notes and better yet have been so extremely patient as I sort out my incredible backlog of emails and still tinker with getting the ZNE Zine out the door. I am pleased that I can finally say that it appears I am making headway in catching up with both. I am working hard to delegate, cut down, and prioritize all my commitments so that I can spend more concentrated time on my beloved ZNE and all our activities.
ZNE is entering into yet another busy season! We've got contests, activities, workshops, and more for our members. We also have an active ZNE We-Care alert, and we've started a lovely new program - Live Pink - in honor of of our wonderful ZNE member, JoAnnA Pierotti.
Read up, visit our discussion boards, get involved - and always - ENJOY CREATING!
xoxo - Chel

The ZNE We-Care Program!
The ZNE We-Care program provides a resource for members to use when they themselves, their family members or friends are faced with a life threatening illness or other extremely challenging situation. Members may submit a recipient for the We-Care program by emailing Chel.
When a We-Care recipient is selected, a ZNE Alert is sent to ZNE Members encouraging them to send art, cards, or just plain old well wishes to the We-Care recipient. ZNE is an amazing group comprised of hundreds of generous and creative souls, and this is a wonderful way for us to join together to help cheer on our fellow members, family, and friends - when they are in a time of need.
This month, we have an active We-Care call for cards for our fellow member JoAnnA Pierotti who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had surgery on November 22, 2006. To learn more about the ZNE We Care program, visit the ZNE Supporting Member discussion boards - or click on the link below.

LIVE PINK
Another program debuting this past month in honor of JoAnnA is Live Pink, a program that places original and limited edition artwork into the hands of those whose lives have impacted by breast cancer.
Live Pink needs art donations, and we encourage you to register yourself, your family, or friends if they have been directly impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis.

GUESS THE ZNE ARTIST!
Check out the gorgeous holiday tags below. I love everything this artist creates, and these tags are no exception!

So - can you guess the artist? Have you seen these before or do you just recognize the style?
The first person to send the correct artist name (either name, or eBay id) to me - will win a $10.00 gift certificate in The ZNE Store. Now, just to be fair and make sure that all our members are on their toes - even the actual artist who created this work can play. They just have to get their name to me before anyone else!
The artist's name and the contest winner will be revealed in the next issue of The ZNE Scene, and a new "Guess The ZNE Artist" artwork will be posted. Click here to submit your guess!

Ooh! Look at what Miss Mary
has up her sleeve!!

ZNE Member MissMary.com, a favorite clip art image source for a long time now - has just created a wonderful online digital clip art club. At present she is offering an entire year's membership at the special price of just $99.00, and this gives you access to literally hundreds of images in dozens of categories.
Miss Mary hand selects her images for mixed media artisans and graphic designers. The images are derived from her own private collection of rare vintage source materials, such as antique books, postcards, and ephemera. Images are 300-600 pixels per inch (ppi). Color images and photographs are 300 ppi, and line art, woodcuts and engravings are typically 600 ppi.
New images are being added regularly - and if you would like to have an endless supply of fun graphics for use in your art - be sure and check out Miss Mary's Clip Art club!
